My Top 4 Real Estate Investing Books For Beginners & Beyond

I love learning about real estate. Though there are many ways to learn, here’s my top 4 favorite real estate books that taught me the most along my way to becoming a Real Estate Mogul. While on this journey to financial freedom, I’ve read a lot of RE books. I usually take away at least a few nuggets of information from every one, but these four manuals are tops in my estimation. Though they seem to target the beginner/intermediate investor, each still has valuable insights for everyone. So even if you are a more advanced real estate investor, the focus on fundamentals is always good reading as you progress in your investing prowess.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

This book is considered THE Classic, so if you invest in real estate, I’m sure you have heard of it. “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” works on building the foundation we all need to create wealth rather than merely be employed all our days. It isn’t solely about real estate, but how to think about money and assets, particularly how the rich use money to work for them rather than working for money. You may not agree with everything Kiyosaki writes, but he is a legend.

The ABCs of Real Estate Investing by Ken McElroy

This book is very thorough and though geared toward apartment building investing, “The ABCs” easily explains concepts that you may find confusing elsewhere. Plus, the action steps he suggests are always good. McElroy, like the other authors listed here, has written several quality real estate books and also happens to be a Rich Dad Advisor for Kiyosaki.

The Millionaire Real Estate Investor by Gary Keller

This is another great starter investment book as it’s full of useful information. The most important thing to do is get started, and this book will help you do just that since it is very motivational. Gary Keller, the author, is the founder of Keller Williams Realty which is still the largest real estate company in the world. He also wrote a few other great books including, “The One Thing”, which I also highly recommend.

Buy It, Rent It, Profit! by Bryan M. Chavis

I don’t think this was a top seller anywhere, but it was one of the early books that I read packed with a lot of information that I needed. I especially appreciated all the good forms I could use while becoming a landlord for the first time. Chavis wrote an easy read that has no added fluff.Hopefully, you found at least one of these books worthy enough to re-read or read for the first time. I always find great value in learning even more about real estate. If I can walk away with a few new pieces of information that may make or save me a ton of money in my real estate investing journey, then it is well worth my time. There are countless other great real estate books out there that I haven’t read, YET. Let me know in the comments your favorites so I can check them out and learn even more.
