Confessions of a Podcast Junkie
Hi, my name is Gary Lipsky, and I’m a real estate investor podcast junkie. I’ve been hooked for a little over a year now, and I listen all of the time!
I like to get my fix while I’m driving to and from work, taking a walk, or even sometimes while I’m doing chores around the house. And in all seriousness, I’ve learned so much that it feels like a healthy addiction. There are usually great learning opportunities to be had, and if I don’t feel I’m getting value out of a particular episode, I just move on to the next.
As you may love learning about how to be a savvier real estate tycoon, I’m sharing my top five favorite real estate investing podcasts for you to check out:
Bigger Pockets Real Estate Podcast with Brandon Turner and Josh Dorkin
Brandon and Josh host shows well made for various levels of real estate investors because they cover a wide range of opportunities. Beginners may like how they focus on steps to help the listener take action. Plus as a seasoned professional, I think they have the best real estate investing website out there because you can network and learn from the nearly one million members! While longer than the others podcasts mentioned here with a runtime that usually exceeds an hour, Josh and Brandon can get a little silly at times but it is well worth the listen.
This is a great place to start: BiggerPockets Podcast 237: Partnerships & BRRRR Investing While Working Full-Time With Ian Reeves
Apartment Building Investing with Michael Blank
Recently, I added this great podcast to my regular lineup. Sometimes I start listening to podcasters because I’ve heard them on another show, and in this case, Bigger Pockets helped me find a new favorite. This podcast targets a focus of mine which involves growing my apartment portfolio. I think you’ll love it because of its niche concentration.
This is a great place to start: MB 095: WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOU A BETTER MULTIFAMILY INVESTOR WITH NATHAN TABOR
Cash Flow Connections with Hunter Thompson
This informative podcast is a treasure trove for intermediate investors. Hunter dives a little deeper than the other podcasts into cash-flowing-commercial real-estate investing. This one is similarly focused to Michael Blank’s show, but even I still get a lot out of it, and you will too. Don’t think that if commercial property is not your focus, you should find one that more closely fits your investment strategy since Mr. Thompson will help you raise your investing game no matter your preferred strategy!
This is a great place to start: E01 – Conducting CRE Due Diligence With Jeremy Roll
The Real Estate Guys with Robert Helms and Russel Gray
This show started over twenty years ago and has been educating listeners ever since. They sometimes take a more macro/big-picture view on real estate investing than the other shows I’ve listed. Though they do less interviewing than many, they have a lot more experience. I love that Helms and Gray have seen it all through their own investing and share that knowledge with you and me.
